Avionics, a leading player in the Brazilian Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) arena is progressing towards production of a unique, Brazilian-made Medium Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) UAV – the “Caçador”. IAI and Avionics announced today they will jointly enter the Brazilian defense market with a indigenous version of the Heron UAV.

Defence and security company Saab has received follow-on orders from Hindustan Aeronautic Limited (HAL), India, for serial production of an integrated electronic warfare self-protection system for installation on the Indian Army’s and Air Force’s Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv. The orders have a total value of approximately USD78 million (SEK740 million), said today the Swedish company in a statement.

Codenamed KF-X, the 8.5 trillion won ($7.69 billion) project calls for South Korea to develop fighter jets of the F-16 class to replace its aging fleet of F-4s and F-5s. Some 120 jets are to be put into service starting around 2025.
