The US Department of Defense announced today it has awarded Hellfire Systems LLC a $144,044,911 foreign military sales contract (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Australia) to exercise option for FY 14 Hellfire II Missile production requirement. Estimated completion date is Nov. 30, 2016.

Eurofighter has released details of a new capability contract valued at $227 million delivering a suite of new enhancements to the Eurofighter Typhoon. As well as introducing a number of upgrades to the Eurofighter’s mission and maintenance systems, the contract, known as Phase 3 Capability Enhancement, will equip the Eurofighter Typhoon to deploy multiple precision-guided air-to-surface weapons at fast-moving targets with low-collateral damage.

The US State Department has made a determination approving a Foreign Military Sale to Slovakia for UH-60M Black Hawk Helicopters and associated equipment, parts and logistical support for an estimated cost of $450 million. The principal contractors will be the Sikorsky Aircraft Company in Stratford, Connecticut; and General Electric Aircraft Company in Lynn, Massachusetts.

The factory is part of the company’s plan to invest 30 billion Indian rupees ($483 million) over the next three years to develop new products and modernize its existing products, Hindustan Aeronautics Chairman T. Suvarna Raju said.

The Airbus A400M new generation airlifter has further proved its credentials as a tanker by successfully demonstrating simultaneous air-to-air refuelling of two F/A-18 fighters. In the course of four flights, the A400M performed 74 contacts and dispensed 27.2 tonnes of fuel to the Spanish Air Force aircraft. Refuelling was conducted at altitudes of 20,000ft – 33,000ft, and airspeeds of 180kt – 300kt – the preferred refuelling envelope for fighters.

As part of the purchase of short-range unmanned aircraft systems codenamed “Orlik”, the Polish Army is planning to procure 12 sets together with logistics and training systems.
