On June 25, 2023, MilDef, from Sweden, and UMS Skeldar jointly unveiled a state-of-the-art Remote Pilot Station (RPS) console designed to cater to the growing demand for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the defense industry. The new console promises enhanced functionality, improved ergonomics, and an optimized workspace for Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operators.

The collaboration between MilDef and UMS Skeldar has resulted in a bespoke pilot console specifically tailored for UMS Skeldar's V-200 platform. This console will be integrated into UAS operations to support maritime defense forces. A notable feature of the console is its ergonomic design and user-friendly interface, aimed at providing an intuitive and efficient UAS control experience. It can accommodate two operators, including the Pilot in Command (PIC) and the payload operator.

Daniel Ljunggren, CEO of MilDef Group, remarked on their selection as UMS Skeldar's partner and stated their commitment to offering solutions for remote control RPS, ensuring flexibility and reduced pilot fatigue. The venture is seen as an opportunity for MilDef to further strengthen its position in the digitalization of the battlefield and expand its total defense offering.

Richard Hjelmberg, Vice President of Business Development at UMS Skeldar, expressed appreciation for MilDef's contribution to creating the console and meeting their customers' operational needs. The console is seen as a step forward in providing an optimal workspace for flight operators.
