The German detachment, consisting of about 60 soldiers (pilots and technical personnel) and Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, will carry out, together with the soldiers of the Romanian Air Force and the Italian Air Force, missions of enhanced Air Policing under NATO command, in the following 3 weeks.

The German Air Force was also present in Romania, last summer, together with the Royal Air Force of Great Britain, based on the Joint Declaration on the interoperability of Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft for the joint execution of air police missions .

Joint training missions have as their main objective the increase of interoperability between NATO allies, and joint air police missions contribute to the development of responsiveness and deterrence.
