Lithuania deploys 2 Alenia/LM C-27J Spartan in Central African Republic.

According to Xinhua, Ten crew members with a C-27 J Spartan transport aircraft from the Lithuania Air Force are formally deployed to the French-led mission in the Central African Republic on Wednesday, said the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania.

The deployed Lithuanian military will supply logistic support to the operation Sangaris for stabilization of the situation in the CAR, said the ministry.

The Lithuanian air force will supply service of transporting cargo and personnel, without being involved in combat actions, according to the defense ministry.

The Lithuanian personnel will conduct flights with C-27J Spartan to the CAR from their main base of deployment, N'Djamena International Airport in the Republic of Chad, said the ministry.
