As part of the 2015 state defense order in the current year the aviation teams of the Eastern Military District plan to receive 22 units of attack helicopters Ka-52 “Alligator”,” was said in a statement.

The press service noted that ten helicopters designed for naval aviation and Pacific Fleet will be based on the Kamchatka Peninsula. In the future, the new Ka-52 will be involved in carrying out training flights and objectives as intended.

The Kamow Ka-52 Alligator is a twin-seat derivative of the Russian-made Ka-50 attack helicopter. The Ka-52 is designed to defeat armor materiel, low-speed aerial targets, as well as exposed and sheltered manpower in the daytime and at night, in Visual Flight Rules and Instrument Flight Rules weather conditions.

The Ka-52 is equipped with powerful offensive weapons that can be configured for different combat missions. The helicopter can use the same weapons as those carried by the Ka-50, including the Khrizantema (close-in) and the Hermes (long-range) news-generation ATGMs, a 30mm rapid-firing flexible 2A42 gun., and S-8 and S-13 aircraft rockets.
