Russian Air Force takes delivery of the first two two-seat multirole fighter aircraft Su-30SM.
 
The first two-seat fighter aircraft Sukhoi Su-30SM were arrived at the Centre flight test of Akhtubinsk in the Astrakhan region, announced Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in Moscow, the spokesman for the Russian Air Force, Colonel Vladimir Deryabin.

The first Sukhoi Su-30SM two-seat multirole fighter performed its maiden flight on September 21, followed four days later by the second Su-30SM.
     

"Two fighter aircraft Su-30SM from Irkutsk landed in Akhtubinsk, after two refueling stops in Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk," said Lt. Col. Deryabin.

The next delivery to the Russian armed forces of high maneuverability fighter aircraft Su-30SM will greatly increase the combat capability of the Russian Air Force.

The high maneuverability multi-role fighter aircraft Sukhoi Su-30SM is a member of the family of Su-30MK, suited to the requirements of the Russian Air Force. The fighter has new radar electronic scanning antenna (AESA) and new radio and identification systems. Armaments and other componnets have also been modified from the original version. The aviation group Irkout must produce thirty Su-30SM multirole fighter for 2015, according to a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence from March 2012.
