The source pointed out that "the UAE is involved in securing the borders of Iraq from north to south, especially the areas between Baghdad and Erbil."

UAE has a total of 59 Mirage 2000-9s fighter aircraft, with the first entered in service since 1986. A second batch of 32 new Mirage aircraft entered in service in 2003 in a deal with "Dassault "French aviation company.
