The
Bell 407GX integrates reliability, speed, performance and maneuverability
with a cabin configurable for an array of missions and payloads. The
bell 407GX spacious cabin has five club-passenger seats with an additional
passenger seat in the cockpit in single-pilot operations. Two individual
ergonomically designed seats with adjustable lumbar support, each equipped
with seat belt, double strap shoulder harness and inertia reel, are
located in the cockpit. The standard cabin seating consists of five
ergonomically designed seats with individual seat belts and single strap
shoulder harness, arranged with three equal width forward facing seats
across the rear of the cabin and two individual rearward facing seats
aft of the cockpit. The fuselage consists of three main sections: the
Forward Section, the Intermediate Section, and the Tailboom Section.
The forward section utilizes aluminum honeycomb and carbon graphite
structure and provides the major load carrying elements of the forward
cabin. The intermediate section is a semi-monocoque structure which
uses bulkheads, longerons and carbon fiber composite side skins. The
tailboom consists of an aluminum alloy monocoque tailboom which supports
the tail rotor drivetrain as well as a horizontal stabilizer with end
plates, vertical fin, and fairings. |

In
the Bell 407GX, the superior performance of the 407 reaches a higher
level. Its Garmin G1000HTM flight deck provides critical flight information
at a glance for greater situational awareness and safety. It's just
one more way the 407GX offers enhanced performance for every mission.
The Bell 407GX is equipped with the Integrated Garmin G1000H flight
deck with twin 10.4” high-res LCD screens host primary flight
display (PFD) and multi-function display (MFD) information in an easy
to scan layout.
The Garmin 1000HTM Flight Deck Integrated Avionics System in the Bell
407GX has been designed to improve situational awareness and reduce
pilot workload through easy to read displays of critical flight information,
tuning of communication and navigation frequencies, and simple flight
planning management. The Bell 407GX’s standard configuration G1000H™
Flight Deck includes the Synthetic Vision System (SVS) and initial installation
of the HTAWS and Navigation database [1]. The system has two SD card
slots to facilitate data Input/Output tasks such as flight plan and
database uploading or critical flight data downloads. The system takes
advantage of the latest in display, computer processing, and digital
data bus technology to provide a high degree of redundancy, reliability,
and flexibility |

Propulsion | ||||||||||||||||||||||
The
Bell 407GX is powered by a Rolls Royce 250-C47B turbine FADEC engine
which delivers exceptional hot and high performance with the ability
to cruise at 133 knots (246 kph). The main rotor is a four-bladed, soft-in-plane
design with a composite hub and individually interchangeable blades.
The tail rotor is a two-bladed teetering rotor that provides directional
control. The fuel system consists of twocrash resistant, bladder type
fuel cells. The forward fuel cell is located underneath and between
the aft facingpassenger seats. The aft fuel cell is located underneath
and behind the aft passenger seats. The helicopters are designed to
operate on standard aviation jet fuels. |
