French Boeing E-3F AWACS fleet to receive software upgrades


The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a $9.9 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity modification (#64) to contract (F19628-01-D-0016), supporting the French Air Force Boeing E-3F Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) fleet with 40 mission-computing software changes and 17 ground-system software changes.

The contract will provide the French Air Force E-3F AWACS fleet with mid-life upgrades. This modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $393.5 million. The contracted work will be performed in Kent, Wash., Oklahoma City, Okla., and Avord Air Base, France. The work is expected to be completed by June 30, 2020.

Foreign Military Sales (FMS) funds are being obligated at the time of award. The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., is the contracting activity.
