Boeing lands 5-year contract for South Korea's F-15K fighter jets support
 
Boeing has received a five-year contract to continue long-term sustainment of the Republic of Korea Air Force’s (ROKAF) F-15K aircraft, supporting to the fleet’s readiness, the US defense contractor announced today, March 17, 2017.

This approach guarantees materials and technical support required for aircraft maintenance over many years while managing costs,” said Tim Buerk, director, F-15 sustainment in the Far East region and United States. “It also provides opportunities for us to utilize local industry to help maintain and manufacture F-15K components, cutting down on cycle times.

Boeing has been sustaining the ROKAF’s F-15K fleet since 2012.

Hyundai Glovis, a Seoul-based supplier, will partner with Boeing on logistics handling and supply chain distribution in country.

The Republic of Korea Air Force operates a fleet of F-15K Slam Eagles fighter jets. A derivative of the F-15E, the Korean variant features an AAS-42 Infra-red search and track, a customized Tactical Electronics Warfare Suite to reduce weight and increase jamming effectiveness, cockpit compatibility with night vision device, ARC-232 U/VHF radio with Fighter Data Link system, and advanced APG-63(V)1 mechanical-scanned array radar. ROKAF expects the F-15K to be in service until 2060.
