The 28 aircraft will be delivered through 2016-end and in 2017. The aircraft are likely to be modernized by the Finnish Air Force with new navigation systems, cockpit displays, and communication equipment.

The Finnish Air Force used an ageing fleet of 27 Valmet L-70 "Vinka" aircraft for training purposes since 1980.

Babcock International operates 119 Grob G115E in 15 different locations for the UK's Royal Navy, British Army and University Air Squadrons and Air Cadets through the Light Aircraft Flying Task program.

The G115E is a single engine basic trainer aircraft designed and manufactured by the German company Grob Aircraft. It is powered by a single Lycoming AEIO-360-B1F/B piston engine.
