Indonesia's home-made Wulung UAV obtains military type certification
The home-made Wulung UAV, jointly developed by the local defence contractor PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) and the Indonesian government, recently managed to obtain a certificate from the Indonesian Military Airworthiness Authority (IMAA), PT DI announced on May 2nd, 2016.

Wulung was jointly developed by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), Indonesia's Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), and Research and Development (Research and Development) of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia. The certification process involved 13 flight tests of the Wulung, PT DI said in a statement

PT DI's Wulung UAV is designed to perform intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. It has a operational range of 100km and is able to fly during 2-3 hours without stopping at a maximum height of 5,500 feet.

The Wulung is equipped with high definition day and night IR camera allowing it to take pictures and videos. It
features autopilot capabilities and uses a modular composite structure, space wide access and quick and easy assembly technologies.

PTT DI's Wulung has a maximum weight of 125 kg, has a fuel tank capacity of 35 liters, using a 22 Hp single- piston engine.
