According to the German media, the German government is negotiating with Turkey a long-term agreement. Based on the Bundeswehr transcripts obtained by Spiegel Online, the cost of the investment is estimated at EUR65 million and will include a full-scale command centre, permanent accommodation for 400 people, mess and medical facilities, hangars and maintenance buildings for the Tornado and the air refuelling aircraft.

The work for the new infrastructure will start immediately and will be concluded in 2017. The German Armed Forces have currently deployed around 200 people, six Tornado reconnaissance aircraft and an A310 Multi Role Tanker Transport.
