KRET signed contracts with Algeria, Belarus and India for President-S DIRCM systems
 
Russia has signed contracts with Algeria, India and Belarus for the delivery of President-S onboard defense systems, CEO of the Radio-Electronic Technologies Group (KRET) Nikolai Kolesov said on Wednesday. "We will deliver 12 [President-S onboard defense] systems to Belarus and five to India. As for Algeria, this information is classified yet," the CEO added.

According to Kolesov, the contracts will be in effect for three years.

The President-S onboard defense system is designed to protect military and civil aircraft and helicopters from air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles, as well as ground and sea-based antiaircraft artillery systems.

In particular, the President-S onboard defense system is mounted on the Kamov Ka-52 (NATO reporting name: Hokum-B), Mil Mi-28 (Havoc) and Mi-26 (Halo) helicopters.

The President-S onboard defense system can detect that the plane may be attacked by the enemy’s fighter jets, air defense missile and artillery systems.

The President-S onboard defense system can hit and destroy the optical homing heads of air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles, including the homing heads of missiles launched from mobile air defense missile systems.
