The tests were completed after six sorties and included verification of the general flight and handling characteristics of the aircraft’s stability and control, of its stall; spin; manoeuvre and aerobatic capability, of its navigation and night flying capability, of the man-machine interface, of the emergency procedures and the overall system characteristics. According to TAI, EASA’s test pilot and flight engineer did not find any incompatibilities for the HÜRKUS Type Certification.

HÜRKUS-A is a basic trainer aircraft, which is planned for deliveries in 2018. The agreement between TAI and Turkey’s procurement agency is for 15 aircraft with an option for 40.

The type’s next generation, HÜRKUS-B, will feature advanced electronic equipment by ASELSAN. Moreover, under an agreement signed in 2013, TAI is developing the HÜRKUS-C. It is a light attack – armed reconnaissance version of the aircraft.
