MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS-DEFENSE/. Two Tupolev Tu-95MS (NATO reporting name: Bear) strategic bombers accompanied by Mikoyan MiG-31 (Foxhound) fighter jets have performed a scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk, the Defense Ministry’s press office said on October 18.

“Two Tu-95MS strategic bombers performed a scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk. The flight lasted more than 12 hours. MiG-31 fighter jets of the Pacific Fleet’s air arm accompanied the bombers,” the press office said.

The Tu-95MS planes practiced aerial refueling during the flight, the press office said.

Russian long-range aircraft regularly perform flights over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Black and the Baltic Seas, the Pacific Ocean. All flights are performed by Russian Aerospace Force planes in strict compliance with the international rules of using the airspace.
