GA-ASI and 3rdiTech announce joint strategic partnership for cutting-edge semiconductor technologies

In a big boost to the “Make in India” initiative, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) announces a strategic partnership with Indian start-up company 3rdiTech, a company that develops next generation computer chips, integrated circuits, and other semiconductor technologies.

Second CASA-C295W military aircraft added to Bangladesh Army Aviation Group

The second CASA-C 295W medium utility military aircraft was added to the fleet of Army Aviation Group of Bangladesh Army on September 25 in an informal ceremony. Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, SBP, OSP, NDU, PSC, Ph.D. was present on the occasion. HE Mr. Ambassador of Spain was also present. Francisco de Asis Benitez Salas, senior officers of the Army Headquarters, Air Force, BGB, RAB officers and other invited guests.

The Indian Air Force (IAF)  inducted the first four Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) on  October 3. 

NATO pilot school continues 5th generation fighter integration training

The Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP) has conducted their third flying course in 2023 with personnel from Belgium, Denmark, France, Spain and the United States; one major aspect was the continued integration of modern 5th generation fighter aircraft in common tactics, techniques and procedures.

US Army orders additional enhanced CH-47F Block II Chinooks

The U.S. Army is continuing to modernize its heavy-lift helicopter fleet with an order for two more Boeing CH-47F Block II Chinooks and long lead funding for additional aircraft.

US Army receives first FTUAS Increment 1 system

The U.S. Army received the first Future Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System, Increment 1 — known as FTUAS, INC 1 — system on Sept. 12, 2022. The system consists of six air vehicles, six data terminals, six control stations and associated ground support equipment. The U.S. Army awarded an $8M other transaction authority agreement for the system on August 18, 2022, to AeroVironment, Inc.

TEKEVER, a leading drone-based maritime surveillance provider in Europe, successfully deployed its technologies in partnership with NATO navies including the British Royal Navy and the Portuguese Navy during the annual REP(MUS) military exercise in Tróia Peninsula, Portugal.

GJ-11 UAV displayed on Chinese National Day

The GJ-11 UAV was displayed on Chinese National Day (October 1st). The People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been equipped with this type of UAV. The aircraft has been equipped with the PLA Air Force and can conduct air superiority operations.

Thai C-130H capability upgrades reach completion

Thai Aviation Industries (TAI) has completed a two-year upgrade of most of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) C-130H Hercules transport aircraft fleet at a cost of $24.32 million.

Indeginiously designed & developed Light Combat Helicopter LCH has been inducted into Indian Army. The first LCH was formally handed over by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to Director General, Army Aviation Corps.

Kuwait Air Force receives two more Eurofighter Typhoon

The Eurofighter programme for Kuwait is progressing as expected with successful deliveries. Acceptance activities were completed by a combined effort involving Kuwaiti and Italian personnel from the Joint International Program Office. The fifth and sixth Eurofighter Typhoons for the Kuwait Air Force touched down on September 28 in country as part of a wider order for a total of 28 aircraft that will be delivered to the country’s Air Force.

Brazilian Air Force and South Korean company Innospace sign contract

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the South Korean company Innospace, represented by Innospace do Brasil, signed a contract, on September 29, at the headquarters of the Air Force Command (COMAER), in Brasília (DF). ). The document aims to provide goods and services for launching space vehicles from area 1, known as the SISPLAT/VLS area, of the Alcântara Space Center (CEA), in the state of Maranhão.

Preliminary FARE kit test on KC-135

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Test Center (AATC) - KC-135 Test Detachment, working with the 151st Air Refueling Wing, Salt Lake City, Utah, continues its transformation and modernization efforts on the KC-135R Stratotanker by testing the MICRO Forward Area Refueling Equipment (FARE) Kit on the 65-year-old aircraft, ensuring it has the best warfighting capabilities.
