They trained to intercept hostile speed targets and compelling the airspace violators to land in Erebuni military airfield. The jets operated in pairs and trained advanced flying, it said.

The pilots trained emergency landing with one operational engine, operated in limited visibility, aerosol, and smokescreens, and landed on a partially damaged airstrip.

They trained day and night in poor weather with heavy rain, strong wind, and changing temperatures.

The Mikoyan MiG-29 is a twin-engine supermaneuverable fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. The MiG-29 entered service with the Soviet Air Forces in 1982.

The Su-30SM is a specialized version of the thrust-vectoring Su-30MKI for the Russian Air Force, produced by the Irkut Corporation. The Su-30SM is considered a 4+ generation fighter jet.
