SAMI Aerospace has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters Arabia, the Kingdom’s subsidiary of Airbus Helicopters to support SAMI in building its technical capabilities to provide rotercraft technical support to Saudi Armed forces.

This agreement will play a key role in equipping the staff with vital helicopter airframe maintenance skills and enhance its repair capabilities for landing gears, engines, engine accessories, and blades within the Industrial Partnership Agreement with GAMI, the local MRO players, and the Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC), a SAMI’s subsidiary.

Commenting on the contract, Eng. Walid Abukhaled said: “We are pleased to further strengthen our partnership with Airbus, a major helicopter manufacturer in the industry. SAMI signs multiple agreements with Singaporean Group ST Engineering

SAMI has officially signed several major agreements with a leading Singaporean technology defense and engineering group ST Engineering, at this year’s edition of the Farnborough International Airshow held in the United Kingdom.

The agreements signed will support SAMI in producing cutting-edge defense systems toward executing its development and growth strategies in various defence equipment and capabilities, as well as technical support and training. With these agreements being signed during the event, both SAMI and ST Engineering anticipate close collaboration to further fortify the Kingdom’s defence capabilities.

ST Engineering was selected by SAMI as an original equipment manufacturer partner based on its expertise and track record in both the production and supply chain of defence-related equipment. Aiming to capitalize upon the Singaporean group’s solid brand and reputation globally, the agreements represent SAMI’s continued commitment to partnerships that create a competitive advantage.

Commenting on the agreement, SAMI CEO Eng. SAMI Composites LLC signs agreement with Lockheed Martin to develop Composites Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Riyadh

SAMI Composites LLC announced that it has signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin to develop a Composites Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Riyadh with the support of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), to boost Saudi Arabia’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.

The agreement was inked on the sidelines of the 2022 edition of Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) in the United Kingdom by Eng. Walid Abukhaled, CEO of SAMI Group, and RayPiselli, Vice President of International Business at Lockheed Martin, in the presence ofH.E. Ahmad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of GAMI.

The Composites Manufacturing Center of Excellence forms part of SAMI’s efforts to develop a sustainable and self-sufficient defense industries sector in Saudi Arabia, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goal of localizing more than 50% of the Kingdom’sexpenditure on defense equipment and services by the year 2030. The new composites manufacturing center will help Saudi Arabia build its aerospace manufacturing capabilities to produce cutting-edge solutions in the future. SAMI Composites LLC and Lockheed Martin will assess and develop the center in a phased manner and will also focus on national talent development.

Commenting on the agreement, H.E. Ahmad Al-Ohali, Governor of GAMI, said: “GAMI supports strategic cooperation, such as these, between local manufacturers and global industry Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
