Rostec State Corporation unveiled the unmanned modification of the Checkmate 5th generation light tactical aircraft developed by Sukhoi Company of the United Aircraft Corporation.

The unmanned version of the aircraft complex was shown in a new video (see below) posted on November 15 on the YouTube channels of Rostec State Corporation and the United Aircraft Corporation, as well as in a new informational special project.
The protagonist of the video, the Air Force commander of a foreign country, describes the advantages of the 5th generation aircraft and the project philosophy.
The Checkmate light tactical aircraft developed by Sukhoi Company (part of Rostec's United Aircraft Corporation), Russia's first single-engine fifth-generation aircraft, was first presented in July 2021 at MAKS-2021 air show. The key characteristics of the aircraft are its low visibility, low flight hour cost, open architecture and high performance in terms of "cost-effectiveness".
The light tactical aircraft Checkmate developed by the Sukhoi Company (part of UAC Rostec) is the first fifth-generation single-engine aircraft in Russia, first presented in July 2021Â at the MAKS-2021 air show.Â
It is positioned as an alternative to the United States’ F-35A Lightning II and Sweden’s JAS-39 Gripen. Checkmate’s potential market is estimated at 300 pieces. Alongside the domestic market the plane may be addressed to countries in Africa, India and Vietnam. The plane, likely to be indexed Sukhoi-75, will be assembled at a plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Checkmate boasts stealth features and is equipped with an intra-fuselage compartment for air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles (a payload of over seven tonnes). The single-engine supersonic Mach 1.8 fighter has a combat range, 3,000 kilometers and is capable of hitting up to six targets simultaneously.
