Russian specialists managed to solve the problem of oscillations caused by the pilot during "manual" control of the aircraft in vigorous maneuvering modes (the so-called PIO oscillations). They lead to instability in aircraft control systems and provoke emergency situations. The invention has already been tested and installed on the MiG-29M / M2 and MiG-35 fighters.

“The patented device will improve flight safety and reduce the workload of the pilot in the cockpit,” said Andrey Gerasimchuk, Managing Director of MiG Corporation.

The non-linear correction device is installed in front of the steering gear. It helps the combat vehicle not to reach the maximum permissible speed. In addition, the non-linear correction device eliminates the time lag of the signal to the steering gear.

“PIO wobbles occur when the pilot is unable to accommodate a sudden change in vehicle dynamics during a complex mission. Our invention allows us to make the flight safer, ”said Yury Obolensky, Deputy Chief Designer for Control Systems of the MiG Corporation.
