First Brazilian Gripen E completes its first flight

Saab completed a successful first flight with the first Brazilian Gripen E fighter aircraft, 39-6001. At 2.41 pm CET on August 26, the Gripen E aircraft took off on its maiden flight flown by Saab test pilot Richard Ljungberg. The aircraft operated from Saab´s airfield in Linköping, Sweden.  

Russian Navy to get Altius UAV

The Navy will get a specialized version of Altius drone for reconnaissance and guidance provision. An attack option is being considered. Due to a major range Altius can detect targets at a distance of thousands of kilometers from the Russian coast. Experts believe the super long-range aviation will provide new capabilities to the Russian Navy, the Izvestia daily writes.

Russian Helicopters to test upgraded Mi-35P attack helicopter

The Russian Helicopters is holding trials of upgraded Mi-35P transport-combat helicopter. It received a new sight, a modern piloting complex and an ability to automatically track targets. Trials are ongoing at Rostvertol enterprise and have to be completed by the end of the year, the holding said.
