The Armenian Air Force should be taking delivery of the Su-30SM fighter jet from Russia in the coming months.

Su-35S is a multirole fighter jet of generation 4+++. It has AL-41F-1S engine which develops supersonic speed without augmentation.

Speaking this week, Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan said that the country's first Su-30SMs should "arrive either in December or January-February," Armenpress reported.

Armenia has long considered the acquisition of Su-30SMs to bolster its Air Force. Earlier this year, in January, the country inked an agreement with Russia for the aircraft. Four aircraft are included in the initial contract and further orders may materialize in the future. Defense Minister Tonoyan said in reference to the Su-30SM earlier in 2019, "We do not plan to be limited only by four units of this type of military equipment."
