"We will change the format of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS for the first time. We offered China to become a partner country. Colleagues agreed and accepted our invitation," said Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov.

The agreement on China’s role as a partner country of MAKS-2019 was reached during the negotiations held in the framework of the 3rd meeting of the Russian and Chinese Sub-Committee for cooperation in the field of industry. "MAKS-2019 will be the first salon held in the new format. The participation of China in the status of a partner country air show is timed to the celebration this year of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia," Aviasalon said.

China has been a long-standing member of MAKS Aviation Salon. In particular, the first performance by the aerobatics crew of the People's Liberation Army of China took place for the first time on 1 August 2013.
