Technodinamika reveals aircraft simulator plans - part 2

Simulators play a major role in the training of military pilots. The trainers improve and become more realistic each year. Technodinamika CEO Igor Nasenkov told TASS which simulators would be supplied shortly, which ones are being designed and which advanced aircraft simulators are available on a dynamic platform.

As for today, the Russian army has received simulators for Su-33, Su-34, MiG-31BM, Il-78M, L-39 airplanes and Mi-24P, Mi-28N, Ka-52, Ka-52K, Mi-8MTV-1, Mi-8MTV-5, Mi-8AMTSh, Ka-27M and Ka-29 helicopters. Trainers for Ka-226.80, Mi-26, Ansat-U, Mi-8AMTSh, Mi-8MTV-5, Mi-28N, Ka-52 helicopters and Su-34, Il-76MD airplanes will be supplied shortly.

“Simulators deal with a broad range of tasks. They can provide primary training and retraining from one aircraft to another, improve skills or restore them after a break,” Technodinamika CEO said.

An example is offered by a complex trainer with a mobility system for a military helicopter. It teaches piloting, air navigation, helicopter systems, radio communications and coordination of the crew in normal flight regimes. It trains preflight training and taxying, as well as aerobatics.

A simulator trains flights in bad weather, when the pilot fully or partially operates by devices. The crews can train emergencies caused by human error or helicopter malfunction.

Another example is offered by the simulator of Il-78 air tanker. It has the cockpit for refueling operator. The refueling process directly affects flight safety. Test pilots said it is necessary to be psychologically ready to approach the refueling cone at a specific angle and speed. All the actions have to be trained up to an automatic level.

Pilots said Technodinamika simulators provide a high authenticity.

The assigned resource of a dynamic simulator is 30 000 hours. The warranty period comprises 12 months with a warranty life of 2000 hours.

All the units of a simulator have a modular design, which simplifies the upgrade. It is also good for new-generation computer hardware or a considerable upgrade of visualization systems. A major quality leap is expected in seven-eight years.

Dinamika can contract an upgrade of operational hardware. The company is participating in R&D to design complex and procedure trainers for Il-112V aircraft and a computer class for theoretical training of pilots and engineers. The issue of Su-57 is being considered.

Simulators of Technodinamika are exported to dozens of countries, such as Kazakhstan, China, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Algeria, Myanmar. The holding plans to expand its presence in the foreign market in the near future.
