UEC launched TV7-117ST engine production


The work to produce units and components of the latest Russian turbofan TV7-117ST engine has been launched by the United Engine Corporation (UEC) at ODK-UMPO enterprise in Ufa, the corporation said on July 6, 2018.

"Civilian modification TV7-117ST-01 will be the engine for the regional passenger Il-114-300 aircraft which is to resume batch production in Russia. The new engine is more powerful than the previous modification TV7-117SM. It increases payload and decreases runoff time.  The military option TV7-117ST is designed for the prospective Il-112V light airlifter," it said.

The capacity of the Klimov-designed engine at the maximum takeoff regime is 3,000 HP, at the increased emergency regime - 3,600 HP. The power plant operates jointly with AV112 air screw (designed by Aerosila Company) with higher productivity. The new engines are produced only from Russian-made units and components.

Trials of the TV7-117ST engine on the upgraded ODK-Klimov test bench began in September 2016. The UEC began flight tests of the engine on Il-76LL flying laboratory in September 2017.
