Russian helicopters in tactical drills

More than 20 helicopters, including Mil Mi-28N (NATO code name: Havoc) attack and Mi-35M (Hind) transport/attack helicopters, and a squadron of Kamov Ka-52 (Hokum-B) rotorcraft, have held a tactical exercise in the Krasnodar Territory in south Russia, Russian Southern Military District spokesman Vadim Astafyev said.

“During the tactical exercise, about 60 pilots practiced deploying to alternate airfields, delivering tactical airborne assault teams to high-mountain areas, and destroying a simulated enemy’s armored vehicles and manpower with the use of organic guns and rocket and missile systems," Astafyev said.

The exercise held in the mountains showed the high skills of the flight and ground personnel who had undergone conversion training at manufacturing plants and Aerospace Force training centers, he added.
