First two Mi-28UB helicopters inducted into RusAF

The first two Mil Mi-28UB dual-control helicopters have been accepted and will be delivered to the 344th Army Aviation Center in Torzhok in central Russia, the Defense Ministry’s press office said on November 13, 2017. "Two Mi-28UB helicopters will be deployed to the Army Aviation Flight Personnel Combat Training and Conversion Center in the Tver Region [in central Russia] in the imminent future," the press office said.

The Mi-28UB helicopters were accepted at the manufacturing plant in Rostov-on-Don in south Russia.

"Representatives of the aviation engineering service and flight personnel checked the operation of the helicopters in different modes on the ground and in the air," the press office said.

The Mi-28UB is a combat training version of the Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopter. Work to develop the Mi-28UB rotorcraft began in 2010.

Although the helicopter is designed to train pilots, it retains the attack capabilities of the baseline version and can be used to hit hostile facilities and hardware.
