"ASAPTR builds on Aurora's work over the past decade as part of the AVIATR program," said Aurora Chairman and CEO John Langford.

"Aurora's Research and Technology Division concentrates on the technologies of autonomy, electric propulsion, advanced manufacturing, multi-vehicle coordination, and advanced multi-dimensional optimization. All of these will be brought to bear for the Air Force through ASAPTR," he added.

Under this program lead by the United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Aurora will conduct research to develop, demonstrate, integrate and transition new air vehicle technologies and systems that provide new capabilities to the warfighter.

These technology developments provide for cost effective, survivable air vehicle platforms capable of accurate delivery of weapons and cargo worldwide.
