The MoU with Airbus Helicopters includes also national customization, service & support, training and the potential to extend the activities to future export business.

The Czech Ministry of Defence is expected to procure a total of 30-35 multipurpose helicopters from western suppliers. The first batch will consist of 12 platforms which could be received by the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018. Regarding the 10 PZL W-3A Sokol helicopters currently in service, they will be upgraded in order to remain in service covering medical evacuation and search and rescue missions..

LOM PRAHA is a state-owned company specializing on the Mi helicopters lifecycle support in NATO and EU countries. For this reason, it has been certified by the Russian companies MVZ Mil and OAO Klimov, the Interstate Aviation Committee and other domestic authorities. It is also an established service supplier to the Czech MoD. This agreement would offer additional benefits considering Airbus Group’s global position in aeronautics, space and related services.
