Sikorsky Aircraft wins $241 mn contract for delivery of 22 UH-60M helicopters to the US Army
 
Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Connecticut, was awarded a $241,701,155 contract to exercise option for a quantity of 22 UH-60M aircraft to support contingency operations. The estimated completion date is December 31, 2016. Work will be performed in Stratford, Connecticut. US Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Sikorsky Aircraft UH-60M Black Hawk multi-role tactical transport helicopter
     
More than 70 UH-60M Black Hawk tactical transport helicopters are currently in use in the US Army.

The UH-60M Black Hawk is a medium-lift, rotary-wing helicopter designed and manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft to meet evolving warfighting needs. It is a modernised version of the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.

The UH-60M upgrade package includes Improved design wide chord rotor blades, T700-GE-701D engines (max 2,000 shp or 1,500 kW each), improved durability gearbox, Integrated Vehicle Management Systems (IVHMS) computer, and new glass cockpit. The production began in 2006.
