Many suppliers and manufacturers are involved in creating the KC-390, though integration and final assembly takes place at Embraer's facilities in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo. The Brazilian Air Force (FAB), which is the owner of the intellectual project and its launch customer, has ordered 28 units of this innovative military transport aircraft.

The Embraer KC-390 is a medium-size, twin-engine jet-powered military transport aircraft currently under development. It is able to perform aerial refueling, transport cargo and troops, and to receive fuel in-flight. It will be the heaviest aircraft that the company has made, and will be able to transport up to 23 tons of cargo, including wheeled armored vehicles.
