Lockheed Martin delivers new KC-130J tanker aircraft, HC-130J SAR aircraft to U.S. armed forces
 
Lockheed Martin recently delivered a new KC-130J Super Hercules tanker aircraft to the U.S. Marine Corps and a new HC-130J Combat King II personnel recovery aircraft to the U.S. Air Force, the US-based company announced May 1.

A KC-130J assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234 (VMGR-234) at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas, was delivered in April 2015.

The KC-130J was delivered to the Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234 (VMGR-234) at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas, and the HC-130J was delivered to the U.S. Air Force’s 347th Rescue Group at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia.

The KC-130J can transport troops and cargo in addition to performing air-to-air refueling of fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. The Marines are in the midst of acquiring a fleet of KC-130Js to replace aging KC-130F/R/Ts.

The HC-130J can refuel helicopters in flight and serve as a command-and-control platform in addition to performing civilian and combat search-and-rescue missions. The US Air Force is buying a fleet of HC-130Js to replace aging HC-130P/Ns.
