BIRD Aerosystems signs new contract for Mexico's ASIO Special Mission Aircraft fleet support


BIRD Aerosystems, the leading developer of Special Mission Aircraft Solutions (ASIO) and Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS), has been awarded a 3 year follow-on contract under which it will provide a variety of maintenance and support services to the Mexican Government ASIO Special Mission Aircraft (SMA) fleet, which includes Cessna Citation Aircraft Modified to Ground Surveillance missions, Special Mission Bell 407 Helicopters, Headquarters and Intervention Vehicles.

BIRD Aerosystems has provided the SMA to the Mexican Government three years ago, and provided maintenance and support to these platforms for three years. Under the new contract, BIRD Aerosystems will continue to provide these services for three additional years. The renewal of the contract is a sign of proof for BIRD's reliable services, and will allow the Mexican Government to maintain high operational capability.

The three years contract includes aircraft maintenance and follow-on support, Maintenance Inspections, refresher and initial training courses for the operational crew –pilots, technicians and special mission operators, provision of spare parts, ground support equipment and special tools to enable the operational availabilityof the fleet.

This follow-on contract also includes a variety of system upgrades that shall be performed by BIRD Aerosystems, including upgrade to the mission system capabilities, night vision operation capabilities, and fleet modernization in-view of 2020 regulations.

BIRD Aerosystems' ASIO solution is installed on Ground Surveillance Cessna Citation Aircraft, Special Mission Bell 407 Helicopters, Headquarters and Intervention Vehicles of the Mexican Government.
