The European Defence Agency (EDA) has launched a new Medium Altitude, Long Endurance (MALE), Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) Training Technology Demonstrator (TTD) project to provide up to nine networked procedural trainers to the European MALE RPAS Community, the EDA announced on Feb. 13, 2017.

The Ukrainian defense contractor Artem, part of UkrOboronProm SJSHC, developed and manufactured a new 80 air-to-ground munition for Ukrainian Air Force. "This new 80 mm rockets are designed to destroy ground targets and are developed for attack helicopters and aircraft using regular starter units," said UkrOboronProm on Feb. 11, 2017.

Harry Harris Jr., U.S. Pacific Command commander, Pacific Air Forces will send 12 F-22 Raptor aircraft and approximately 190 Airmen to Royal Australian Air Force Base Tindal in early February to conduct combined exercises and training missions with the Royal Australian Air Forces as part of the Enhanced Air Cooperation Initiative under the Force Posture Agreement between the United States and Australia.

CAE today announced that Airbus Defence and Space has awarded CAE a contract for a comprehensive C295W aircrew and maintenance training solution to support the Royal Canadian Air Force's (RCAF) Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) program. The contract is worth approximately C$200 million over the next 11 years and includes options to extend an additional 15 years that would take the value to more than C$300 million (US$228 million).
