"The engine features very high power and efficiency. For instance, its maximum takeoff power is 3,000 hp and contingency power 3,600 hp," UIC said.

The engine will be tested on a special rig made by Klimov JSC. The TV7-117ST’s full-rate production will be carried out jointly by Russian engine manufacturers Klimov, Salyut and Chernyshov.

The Il-112V military transport aircraft is being developed to replace the Antonov An-26 (NATO reporting name: Curl) and An-24 (Coke). The type is to be assembled by the VASO plant in Voronezh at a rate of eight aircraft a year. The military is reportedly intent on ordering 62 airlifters.
