Italian Air Force to become launch customer of the Piaggio Aerospace's P.1HH HammerHead UAS
 
The Italian Air Force will be the launch customer of the P.1HH HammerHead Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), a state-of-the-art multipurpose UAS, designed and developed by Piaggio Aerospace. Piaggio Aerospace will deliver three UAS systems – 6 air vehicles and 3 ground control stations – complete with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) configuration to the Italian Air Force in early 2016.

Indian Defense Ministry gives green light for acquisition of 38 more Pilatus PC-7 trainer aircraft
 
India's Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) on 28 February 2015 approved buying of 38 more Pilatus P-7 trainer aircraft from Switzerland at a cost of 1500 crore rupees. These trainer aircraft will train Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter pilots. India has already acquired 75 Pilatus aircraft against a projected requirement of 181 planes and 59 of these have been inducted.

BAE Systems, Inc. today announced that its Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures (ATIRCM) system has been approved for export by the U.S. Department of Defense. The export approval paves the way for sales to allied nations around the world, giving them access to this life-saving technology. “We are seeing tremendous international interest for this system, which has proven to be both highly effective and reliable since its fielding in 2009.”

AEL Sistemas to provide wide aera display and head-up display for Brazil's Gripen NG aircraft
 
Defence and security company Saab has selected AEL Sistemas (AEL) as a new supplier for the Gripen NG in Brazil. AEL will provide the wide area display (WAD) and the head-up display (HUD), which will be integrated in the Gripen NG for Brazil as part of the F-X2 contract, the Swedish company announced on February 25. The WAD and HUD development programme commenced in January 2015. Saab and AEL have also signed a contract for transfer of technology.

Pakistan air force has inducted the advanced China-built Karakoram Eagle AWACS aircraft, capable of detecting hostile aerial and sea surface targets far before ground-based radars regardless of their height. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) said the new aircraft were inducted into its premier No 4 Squadron at ceremony held on Thursday, February 26, at an operational PAF base in Karachi.
