Aselsan and Eurojet to strengthen collaboration on EJ200 engine program
 
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that outlines the main areas of collaboration to be developed between Aselsan Turkey’s leading defense company and the European engine consortium Eurojet was signed on January 19 by both companies. The purpose of the MoU is to pave the way for further discussions to explore potential opportunities for business collaboration on an Engine Control Unit, a Health and Usage Monitoring System and software development projects relating to the EJ200 engine program.

BAE Systems has been awarded a $170 mn contract by the UK's Ministry of Defence (MOD) to extend the Typhoon Availability Service (TAS) for the in-service support of the Royal Air Force’s (RAF) Typhoon fleet by 15 months. The contract extension means BAE Systems will continue to work alongside the RAF in meeting Typhoon’s operational requirements until early 2016.

Domingo Urena–Raso, Executive Vice President of Military Aircraft for Airbus Defence and Space, told a conference that Airbus is planning to create a centre in Poland for designing and assembling Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for both military and civilian uses.

Under a process known as type selection, the Japanese government chose the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft and the RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft system to help maintain the country's sovereignty.
