The Peruvian Air Force has 18 Su-25 aircraft, ten single-seater and eight two-seater in inventory. The contract for the recovery of ten copies was signed in December 2014, at an approximate cost of 32 million dollars. Differences between contractor (Rosoboronexport, Sukhoi) and client (FAP) led the FAP to probe the possibility of completing overhaul work in Belarus, however the efforts did not prosper and the project progresses gradually, one plane at a time.

The extensive program of recovery of the ten Su-25, six single-seater and four two-seater, to partially recover the operation of the air combat park of the armed institute, Seman Peru has delivered to the FAP a fourth copy, a single-seater FAP-071 .

At the SITDEF 2019 , FAP sources confirmed the successful recovery of the first two aircraft. A third copy, a two-seater, was recovered and delivered to the FAP in the middle of last year.
