BAE Systems has been awarded $19.2 million for sustainment services associated with the AN/ALQ-239 Digital Electronics Warfare Systems (DEWS) and AN/AAR-57A(V) Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) hardware/software,” the US Department of Defense said in a statement August 19.

The Digital Electronic Warfare System (DEWS) protects new and legacy aircraft by providing radar warning, situational awareness, offensive targeting support, and self-protection. System capabilities include all-aspect, broadband radar warning; emitter location; multispectral RF/IR countermeasures; and response management.

These capabilities are accomplished through a digital radar warning receiver, digital radio frequency memory jamming, and an integrated countermeasures dispenser to provide fifthgeneration EW capability.

BAE Systems' AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System provides advanced missile warning and hostile fire detection for rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft. The system uses electro-optic missile sensors (EOMS) paired with an electronic control unit (ECU) to quickly respond to current and evolving threats in any situation. It is designed to automatically detect a wide range of missile and hostile fire threats

This contract provides for the repair and return indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity in support of DEWS/CMWS line replaceable units and line replaceable modules for the Foreign Military Sales customer.

Work will be performed at Nashua, New Hampshire, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 13, 2022.
