The agreement was signed by Dato’ Edron Hayata Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of Aerologica and Eric DiStasi, Regional Director Asia of Sikorsky.

National Aerospace and Defence Industries, as the parent company, and Aerologica are very honoured and privilegied to partner with an original equipment manufacturer in enhancing our scope of capabilities to include rotary wing in our company profile”. Dato’ Edron further added that this agreement does not only allow Aerologica Sdn Bhd to support Malaysia’s fleet of Sikorsky S-61A-4 NURI, S-70, and other Sikorsky helicopter types in spares, repair and overhaul capabilities, but also having the opportunities to support any other international organization with similar Sikorsky aircraft types.

Eric DiStasi stated that “Sikorsky fully recognizes the value of establishing a robust supply chain in support of Malaysia’s Sikorsky fleet. Through key partnership such as this, we will continue to pursue competitive and innovative support solutions designed to keep our Malaysian customers mission ready.”

Malaysia bought a total of 31 S-61A-4 Nuri for transport and CSAR missions. Among them, 17 are in service with the Royal Malaysian Air Force and 12 have been transferred to the Malaysian Army Aviation. The RMAF also operates a fleet of six S-70 Black Hawk helicopters.
