In the VIP market AgustaWestland has signed orders with customers from Asia, with two AW139s for Samsung and two AW119Ke in India for Kestrel Aviation, and from US with two more AW139 in VIP configuration. The AW139 confirms its leading position in the offshore market with a further order for two units by OHI Group.

These contracts further expand the already significant success achieved by the AgustaWestland Family of new generation helicopters and confirm the leading role played by the company on all main applications in the global market such as VIP/corporate transport, EMS/SAR and offshore transport.

Selex ES signed a contract for a value of about 40 million euro with the General Directorate of the Civil Aviation of Kuwait, to provide a networking data infrastructure to allow data exchange in the Kuwait City airport.

The three year agreement, named KADIN (Kuwait Airport Data Interchange Network), includes the supply and the installation of complex hardware and software systems for the management of data traffic among the several and different airport systems, which are already operational or which may be operational in the future. The agreement also includes a four year’s logistic support.

This contract follows to the one signed in 2010 with the same customer for the provision of a primary radar system and an ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast) for air traffic control and opens up interesting opportunities for the coming programme of the new Kuwait City airport.
