Russia plans to develop new super heavy military airlifter 640 001A RUAF An-124 from the 224th Flight Unit inflight with 2 Sukhoi Su-27s

"We will think how to develop an aircraft in demand in the interests of the Defense Ministry, in the first place, and the civil market," the deputy defense minister said, adding that "aircraft makers can do this." This project would replace the ageing An-124

The Antonov An-124 Ruslan is a strategic airlift jet aircraft. It was designed by the Antonov design bureau in the Ukrainian SSR, then part of the Soviet Union. By 2020 it is planned total to upgrade 20 aircraft in the version of An-124-100M, including aircraft in storage.
