Ukraine has ordered 6 new Bayraktar UCAVs from Turkey


The Ukranian government has announced its intention to order 6 Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs) from Turkey.

The Turkish company, Baykar, will produce 6 Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs and deliver it to Ukraine within 1 year. These drones will be furnished with 3 ground control systems and also other related equipment.

These brand new UCAVs will be equiped with high-tech parts and modern weaponry in order to destroy various threats such as armored vehicles, engineering and fortification buildings.

Made of carbon fibre, Kevlar and hybrid composites, the Bayraktar TB2 has a length of 6.5m, wing span of 12m and a maximum take-off weight of 630kg. It is powered by a sole 100hp Rotax 912 Internal Combustion Engine. It has a range of more than 150 km and a top speed of 130 km/h. The Bayraktar TB2 can fire a wide range of weapons, such as the 22.5 kg Roketsan MAM-L Smart Munition or even the long-range anti-tank missile UMTAS.
